Today, Dr. Isaac Galobardes, as the director of the Quality Agency of Higher Education of Andorra (AQUA), has been one of the distinguished speakers who have participated in the session of the web seminar "Quality Assurance and the Sustainability Agenda" held by the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

In this session, which has had the representation of France, Malasya, Taiwan and Andorra, the participants deepened the fundamental role quality assurance and regulation play in supporting higher education providers to address sustainability challenges and drive interconnected communities toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)'.

The debate was enriched by contributions from quality assurance agencies and experts with diverse experiences in integrating considerations related to the SDGs into quality assurance processes, thus empowering higher education providers to contribute significantly to sustainability efforts.

At AQUA we are firmly committed to the SDGs, as demonstrated by a study carried out in collaboration with the ACPUA of Aragon and co-financed by INQAAHE, in 2018.

The objective of this project was to converge the guarantee of institutional quality with the SDGs. To achieve this, we worked closely with stakeholders in higher education and sustainability to interpret the SDGs in our context and integrate them into our educational practices. This process led to the creation of specific indicators that we can use to evaluate and improve our results in terms of institutional quality. The indicators proposed in this study reinforce the idea that sustainable development and SDGs are essential for all aspects of higher education. This includes not only leadership and management but also teaching and learning, research and knowledge transfer, the experience of teachers and students, campus management, and the creation of external collaborations. This study reaffirms our commitment to sustainability and will guide us on our path toward continuous improvement and excellence in higher education.
