From October 7 to 9, AQUA welcomed a visit from the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) as part of the process to become a full member of this association. This visit aimed to assess the Agency's compliance with the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG) in the evaluation, accreditation, and certification processes for the quality of higher education in Andorra.

During the visit, the panel interviewed various AQUA committees, the working team, and other stakeholders. The panel, coordinated by Alexis Fàbregas, Project Officer of ENQA, consisted of the following members:

• Alastair Delaney, Executive Director of Operations and Deputy Chief Executive, QAA, UK. Chair, quality assurance professional (ENQA nominee).

• Ewa Kolanowska, Consultant in HE, Poland. Secretary, quality assurance professional (ENQA nominee).

• Jordi Villà i Freixa, Full professor, Department of Biosciences, Universitat de Vic, Universitat Central de Catalunya, Spain. Panel member, academic (EUA nominee).

• Lukas Jehlicka, Student in a single-cycle master’s degree in medicine and surgery at the University of Turin, Italy. Panel member, student (ESU nominee).

If the external evaluation is positive, the Agency will be included in the European Register for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (EQAR), which will enhance trust in the quality of Andorran higher education and facilitate student and faculty mobility, as well as the international recognition of degrees.
