Yesterday, November 26, in the framework of World Access to Higher Education Day, the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education of Andorra (AQUA) organized two key activities to foster dialogue and reflection on the challenges of equitable access to higher education.
Meta-evaluation with stakeholders of Andorra’s higher education system
In the morning, a meta-evaluation session was held with key stakeholders from Andorra’s education system, including institutional representatives, academics, professionals, and students. The session focused on analyzing the Agency's evaluation processes and identifying opportunities for improvement to ensure quality and accessibility in higher education in the country.
This collaborative workspace provided valuable insights into developing a quality assurance system that addresses the needs of Andorran society.
Conference: “Access to University: A Challenge of Equity”
In the afternoon, the lobby of the General Council hosted the conference “Access to University: A Challenge of Equity” delivered by Dr Miquel Àngel Essomba, an expert in pedagogy and a recognized advocate for inclusive education.
Dr Essomba discussed the social inequalities that hinder access to higher education and highlighted the need for educational and social policies that promote equity and the right to education as tools for social cohesion and progress.
Through these initiatives, AQUA reaffirms its commitment to fostering high-quality and accessible higher education. The involvement of the educational community and social stakeholders is essential to advance a system that provides real opportunities for everyone.
